I want to play graphic heavy games like Crysis 2.
Specs:
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 2600 3.4GHz 8mb cache
  • Memory: 8GB SDRAM 1333MHz
  • Video card: AMD Radeon HD 6770 1GB GDDR5
  • HDD: 1 TB Sata 3.0 GB/s 7200 RPM
  • PSU: 460W
It's a Dell XPS 8300, so the motherboard comes directly from Dell.
Dunno what brand the hdd is of, though.

Yes! Its a beast

!
No details on PSU, motherboard, HDD?

Well, its pretty good! but I would go for a different graphics card instead.
Go for the 6950 - midrange card if you want to stick to AMD.

Edited with the HDD.
About the motherboard and PSU, I'll have to check but it won't happen before tomorrow as I'm in bed right now.

Good cpu
More than enough ram

However, the gpu is equivalent to what they put in recommended system requirement, so your gpu will be outclassed fast. I wouldn't personally recommend a 128 bit gpu for a serious gaming computer, you should go with a 6850/560, or better.

If you are on a budget, keep in mind that most of the time, games are bottlenecked by the gpu and not by the cpu

As indicated your GPU is going to be the limiting factor. Let Tom's Hardware do all the dirty work

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-g...-6670,2935.html

Pick your budget and buy the video card recommended. You can't go wrong.

Everything else for your computer is fine. Mind you the 8GB of RAM is silly unless you intend to run 64bit Windows 7. If you're going 32-bit just buy 4GB

I played Crysis 2 on a Nvidia 8800GT fine

As far as PC gaming goes, almost any midrange card is good enough for any games out right now and in the near future.

I am using a 4870 1GB of GDDR5 and playing Crysis 2 was a pleasure.

Most games are pretty much ports of console games right now and if you look at the specs of a PS3 or a 360 compared to even my last gen graphics card you get the drift.

The 5770 was only a bit of an improvement on the 4870, and the 6770 is just a rebranded 5770. It will be fine for the next couple years, since PC gaming hasn't ramped up yet. Somehow I don't think MW3 and the other "super realistic" (i.e. brown/grey grit/grime) games coming out will push graphics much further than the last generation of games. After all, most of them are now designed to play on XB360 and PS3 first, then PC after.

For the gaming PC... you've not mentioned what most of the parts will be (PSU, case, motherboard, etc). You've not even mentioned what brand HDD you're aiming for (if it's SeaGate, I will slap you with an iFish). You might also want to consider swapping the i7-2600 (K edition?) for a i5-2500K and put the saved $100 or so to getting a better graphics card.

The Q6600 was epic in its day, for being extremely overclockable. Now it's dwarfed by the Core i5-2500K and i7-2600K, but it should still not have any problems running any game on the market. As for the HD 2600 XT... I don't know much about it, other than it's old. Considering ATi/AMD's steady hops in performance, I'd guess it's roughly at the same level as current generation budget graphics, or maybe even worse. 3GB is pretty much the minimum level of RAM expected in computers these days.

It was sort of the midrange of its day, in the 2XXX series, then the 3XXX and my 4XXX then you have the 5XXX so its pretty dated.

Probably will not be playing Modern Warfare 2 on it lol amazingly the rest of the system looks pretty decent.

Thinking about it a bit more you probably could play Modern Warfare 2 on it but you would have drop everything to almost the lowest settings. I think the 2600XT had like 256MB's of GDDR2 ? Maybe GDDR3.

According to this web page MW2 will run on a Radion 1600XT lol

http://www.shacknews.com/article/60971/mod...are-2-pc-system

Probably get like 12-30 FPS and average about 18.

Added PSU and some other details.
Since the 6770 supports Crossfire, I'm planning to get another one.

"Is this a good gaming PC?"

First rule of computers is, if it is for non gaming first and some games second, odds are your system will last you for 5 years with no effort.

If you call it a 'gaming PC', then you might as well forget making any assumptions that ANY thing you buy will be good enough next year.

I know this to be true, as I have watched PC evolve since 1990. You have about 2-3 years at best before your rig 'sucks'.

Lolz, you have high hopes for a gaming PC, 2 a 3 years

You always have to keep in mind, the second you use your system it's almost outdated

I've been playing and watching the whole pc stuff almost since the came out, around 82/83 we got or first one, an IBM PC XT with 10mb HDD (i was lucky my father needed those things and could them very cheap (for that time) every year the life span of a pc goes down.
If your one of those guys that always want to play the latest games in full glory without any lag or other issues, you have to buy every year a new pc or at least a new gfx card. I still work with pc's (in different schools) every year we have to buy new pc's for the classes that need heavy duty software (CNC stuff, cad, Video editing, Programming, etc...)

Nope, that's not it.
What's PSU supposed to be?
In the specs it says: Standard Fan and Heatsink -45W.
I can't find PSU there.

@Panzer Tacticer, I know. I'll probably have to upgrade my video card next year.

Can i ask what budget do you have for the graphics card?
The price vary from place to place.
I'm buying another 6770, since it supports Crossfire.
Will that be good enough?

Ya will be good enough,But you will need a more powerful PSU.
recommended is 600W.
A 700W would be enough.
I bet that mine is good enough but I can't find it mentioned.
Go to dell.co.in, customize the Dell XPS 8300 and see if you can find PSU.
