Hacking Is there some way of using this as a cheat device with original games?

I want to do a bit of cheating in my original cart of Pokemon Pearl (complete local Pokedex) but don't really want to spend the money on a cheat device when I only need it for one thing. Is there any homebrew software that I could use via a hotswap to cheat in an original game? Failing that, anyway for me to back up a save from an original cart with one of these?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Wasn't sure what would be a good place for a question like this.
