Hello,

I feel like the world is about to end any time now.

We had the Ouya, the whatevers and soon perhaps the intellevision Amico. But isnt what we all really want a dreamcast 2? Imagine a Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 part 2.

How plausible is a Dreamcast 2 and what would like to see if a Dreamcast 2 were to come out.

I think VB 2 could exist if nintendo got their mojo back instead of releasing android tablet console
Yeah, the VB 1 was a massive financial hit on them. But they could do a portable VR headset with some smartphone tier parts as a Virtual Boy 2. Nintendo are very good at utilising underpowered hardware.

Cost of developing a console from scratch...

Assuming it is not going to be basically a PC, a rebadged android box or the like (and there are no more oddball CPU types to consider for this*) then that is going to be a lot
https://www.segasammy.co.jp/english/ir/finance/balance/

276295000000 yen for current assets. 2 195 073 363.42 on an exchange convertor (some 2 billion USD) which is reasonable

Trying to find development costs for a console is tricky but it is going to be a major chunk of that, albeit probably debt financed.

They would then have to earn that all back, convince developers to play with them (not sure what they might do there -- censors are reasonably hands off these days compared to 8-16 bit Nintendo, the cut taken is a lot from what we have seen but not so much that they can really compete without an existing install base), convince the public to get onboard (Sega have some good will but not that much).

That was more or less the 3DS if anything, and that had more success but also much failure in adopting the gimmick of 3D

There is nothing like panic bomber on the 3DS and listen to the soundchip:

We need to think practical. Engineer a hot rodded raspberry pi 5 (when it come out) do some programming magic and you get 360 level graphics. That would be strong enough for a Dreamcast 2.
