Is there homebrew that can calculate MD5 or CRC32

    The hard disc (or OS playing with it) should check things as they happen.

    None the less a fair few hex editors can do it, SFV (as used in many a download site) is just a text list of crc32 values for the files contained, most compression applications (zip, rar, 7zip) rely on it as well .

    I think he was asking for a homebrew app that can do that, not a PC app (I dont think 1 exists for homebrew)

    its not that hard. its just that nobody has thought this important enough to make into an app all by itself.

    patchmii and all apps derived from it have the code to calculate sha1.
    usb loader GX and probably many others have the code to do md5.

    its just a matter of somebody turning that code into an app that will check it. i think you best bet is to open an issue on the wiixplorer issues page and ask for an enhancement. if you ask nice enough, im sure rwin or dimok will add it.
