Is there any way to downgrade or install CFW on DSi without hardmodding?

I have a DSi with 1.45 system version but I couldn't find any way to downgrade the firmware except hardmodding it (and I don't really wish to mess with hardmodding since I had tried to hardmod my 3DS and failed before). Since there are some great exploits available for Nintendo's latest portable device 3DS that can be installed from SD card I thought there would also be a way for old DSi but so far I couldn't find any. I got my DSi from a friend with an old R4 card that only supports older versions so if I could downgrade my 1.45 system somehow I would be able to use it on my DSi. I know I can also order a brand new flash card but I don't really want to pay for that right now since I got this DSi without paying...

The DSi scene is nowhere near the 3ds scene due to several factors, mostly the fact that most of what you do on it can be done on a flashcart and due to the nature of the DSi itself (at least that's what I understand). Sadly, you will need to hardmod to do it.
