Hacking Is there any point of buying a Gateway?

I agree that CFW is now better, but what do you mean by lack of support for New 3DS? They've been supporting it as much as possible. I think Gateway are the only ones to support my 8.1 SysNAND with no browser support - CFWs all require an entry point using the browser in some way. The 9.5 EmuNAND limitation is universal due to higher firmwares not being decrypted yet.

They want something that is free, don't have to pay. Even if you didn't buy GW's card you're still using GW's code to perform certain "IMPORTANT" features, mainly sysnand backup. No one else has been able to provide this.

Can you play JAP region games online on a N3DS with rxTools? Does it require any additional purchase, like a cartridge of CN for example?

I have a few friends who are holding back from hacking their 3DS because of Gateway's price tag, but if this rxTools thing doesn't require any additional purchases then I might get them into it.

If you don't want to play 5 new games every single days using the .3ds file support, gateway is clumsy to use. And setting it up with the mset stuff is as "difficult" as doing it for let's say Reinand.
I don't even mention the multiple reboot you have to do if you want to play a rom or a legit game cart.
Since I've installed a cfw I'm glad I don't have to use this mess that was GW. They probably introduced lot of stuff to the scene but their constant lies, silence for months and lack of support for N3DS won't let me drop a tear for their future.

Just want to mention, if you're setting up cfw without a Gateway, it can be a pain in the ass.
Installing Mset with Gateway is extremely easy, not overly difficult without though.

You need Cubic Ninja at least once to setup cfw for a N3DS. So unless you have a copy, your friends would have to buy one.

The only reason I still have it is because Its better than CFW. Simple as that. Sure, CFW can do most of the stuff Gateway can, but it's much simpler. No installing any CIAs or dealing with problems.
