I'm looking to track down the owner of a particular mobile number. Is there an on-line mobile phone directory in the UK? I've been searching but can't seem to find one so thought I'd ask on here in the off chance that that someone knows of one.

I don't think so. Most phone books work the other way around anyway, you start with a name and they give you the number. There has been talk of a directory enquiry service for mobiles on the news but their site's down atm because funnily enough, people aren't thrilled with a company collecting their mobile numbers and they couldn't handle all the unsubscribe requests, lol.

There might be other things you can try instead, depending on the reason why you're looking for the number.

    Out of interest, why exactly?

Did you steal some poor shmucks phone and are now planning to raid his house?

No, someone was making some nasty phone calls to my folks and stupidly forgot to hide their number on one of them. Funnily enough they weren't picking up when I tried ringing them back. I had a suspicion about who it was but didn't want to do anything without proof. They called BT but they said it could take a week or two to solve the problem and I wanted it sorted sooner. Problems solved now. [IMG]

I think that's a good enough reason to raid their house if you know who it is.

That's not quite what happened, but all I'll say is they won't be doing it again. [IMG]
