Coulds, Mights and Wills are not a successful step forward.
If something does not have enough ground then it cannot be considered a fact.
Most of the things in that picture were able to be reproduced by users meaning that anyone with any intention could have done it.

Its common human behavior not to believe stuff that are negative for their expectations.
Most of the people just want to have an exploit early and play their 3DS games like the impatient pirates that they are.

Steps ARE being made towards 3DS hacking. The few people in the scene that know what they're doing are looking into things, and when they actually release something it's talked about here.

If anything big or useful happens, it's front-page news here.

For hacking status check http://3dbrew.org or #3dsdev und Efnet, these are the best sources, thats where the hackers are.

Not true!
As far as i know, neimod from #3dsdev already made a NAND dump.
RAM dump is underway.
There IS definitely progress made.

I can pretty much say myself that I have already developed a CFW for 3DS and am not releasing it for shit and giggles. What people "said" dont really count as a step forward, when the said thing is released then we can consider it as an actual step

No you can´t, because you are a noname.
Neimod, Crediar, blasty, sven, bushing, DarkFader, costis etc., all the guys who hang out in the #3dsdev channel have already proven in the past that they know what they are talking about.
They are the creators of the biggest Wii hacks, DSi hacks etc.
They have no reason to lie like a little attention whore, especially when they are talking to other devs on IRC.
#3dsdev is, thank heavens, not gbatemp.

i just have a feeling that the 3ds would have tobe hacked like the Wii using custom FW's
and not mainly on cart.

most of the good hackers I see so far are focus on PS3, I could be wrong but I'm counting the days.
or maybe the hackers are waiting for the "BIG" may update to start anything.

because if they had started now, Big N would be on the look out.
Plus I want 3D video recording and internet browser.
