Hacking Is there a way to use savedatafiler with retail cartridges?

I'm just wondering is there a way to make my pokemon y retail cartridge show up on gateway mode so I can use savedatafiler and inject an edited save onto it?

.cia only works in emunand or "normal mode" in 9.x..... retail games only works in classic mode wich .cia doesnt work

i use pokebank, downloaded from eshop wich works in both emunand and classic mode, to pass my "hackmons" to my retail card

i figured to do that as well, but i really would like to just edit my mons/the save directly instead of using bank all the time

yah, the item thing are really annoying.
but i use pkhex just for eggmoves

its a bit boring do that every time you want edit pkms
but its the only way really "easy" to do, and you can pass many edited pkms you want

other way is trading mons between emunand game and retail game, but this require 2 3ds =\

I'm going to complete the installation of that leaked modified NAND image (I hate calling it CFW!!!) tonight for the exact same reason. I couldn't finish it thenother week coz I don't have a WIFI network to use

I haven't received my Gateway yet to test but your comment seems like that is going to affect my plans. I know that my legit eshop purchases with new save encryption will still work on Gateway in classic mode after I get it but I planned on never going into the eshop again and just doing game updates by cia. Does your comment mean that I can't and I have to risk future game update coming out at a time when Gateway hasn't updated emunand so I can't go online in my games.

I don't like calling that so called "Custom Firmware," CFW.....

It's a modified NAND image running from removable storage. Nothing more.

You can use pokebank + rom in emunand

You can also use pokebank + retail cartridge in classic mode

is this right?

BUT only with pokebank dowloaded from eshop
Since .cia doesnt work in classic mode

Simples steps:

Load up pokemon x/y/or/as on emunand
use savedatafiler to export the save
use pkhex to edit much pkm you want
import save to your rom
open pokebank, store all the pkm you want
turn off and on the 3ds
Load up gw in classic mode
put your retail game
open pokebank and pass down the pkms

You can dump the ROM (no need to dump the save as it's part of the ROM), change it to .3dz and then use SaveDataFiler on it.
