Hello,
I bought a non official dock (scorel) and it brick my Nintendo Switch with the firmware 5.0 (I used the official nintendo power ac adapter with this dock). When I used this dock, I got an error code and my Nintendo Switch doesn't boot anymore (stuck at logo on boot)

My Switch is not completely dead, it can boot in Rcm mode with fusee gelee (it works fine).

I'm not sure about the brick, do you think it's a soft brick / semi brick ? Is there a way to repair it with the rcm mode ?

Thanks

Hold your horses with the replacing parts!
If it was a hardware error it would likely show itself by way of solid color screen instead of staying at the logo, more likely something to do with software.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for all your replies :)

I don't know the error code sorry :/
When I used this dock for the first time it brick my switch and I didn't know a dock could break my switch, so I just rebooted it.

Maintenance mode does not work.

I think I can charge my Switch (brick in March). I tested Fusee Gelee about two weeks ago and it worked.

Warranty is over, I bought it in March 2017

Everything you just said is wrong. The brick happens because the power regulator chip is damaged.

Hasn't Nintendo complied to the new FCC warranty regulations, if so third party products such as these docks should now be covered by Nintendo, worth a shot to see about repairs if you bought your system under warranty.

Tell me something mnemonicpunk. Who are you and what is your role in all the Switch hacking bullshit? You joined today and appear to know what the fuck you're talking about. I searched up your account name on Google and found a Twitter account which I believe is yours because it has the same profile picture. I also found a freelancer account which might be yours because the country in this account is set to Germany. In my brief search the other accounts I found had little to no activity in them.

Hey there,
I'm not necessarily a public person, so Twitter didn't hold my attention for long. ^^ I'm a developer (specializing on web and embedded dev), hacker (in the Re:Switched sense, not the movies sense) and spent the last few days wrapping my head around what is and isn't there in terms of Switch homebrew and how the code for those things works.

I spent most of my time doing that by reading and playing with the code for Atmosphere and hekate, trying to not only understand what they do but also how they do it. The rest of my time on there I spend talking about homebrew, getting it to run and helping people who are having trouble with it. I am NOT a member of the dev team but I try to keep up enough to help with active development anyway.

Hope that somewhat answered your question.

That would be awesome.
Many people was affected by the brick. Recovering without recurring to microsoldering would be so great!

From what I understand nintendo locks off the battery entry point. No way to "unbrick" it.

In Europe Nintendo offer 2 year warranty for every console they sold.
