Hacking Is there a way to install a recovery program on Pro B8?

I have a PSP 3000 that I bought about a month ago new and now I want to hack it. If anything goes wrong with the process is there a way to install a recovery type program to fix it? And how can I avoid bricking my system? I am new to all this hacking so please help me! Thanks!

Sorry, I left some information out. I have to keep the semi firmware on 6.39 because my PSP is a 9g. So I should just follow your guide and it will be ok?
