Hacking Is there a way to go from 4.5 to cfw using gateway...

similar to this post but WITH using gateway.
i can do nearly all in the post except cannot connect to my 3ds as all i get is
"failed to connect"

my 3ds is on 4.5 and i have done upto and including 13 off that post..
So what else would i need to do?

Im still waiting for my gateway to be delivered so i can't test this. You could try creating an emunand using gateway and install dev menu on it and then dump it and patch it for CFW. This would eliminate the need to install dev menu using the wireless connection.

Good idea, i'd already installed the dev menu on the nand, but i'll try that

Don't see why it wouldn't work those steps are only needed because without a gateway there isn't a way to install a cia.

Ive tried a few times and its a no go, i also read this on a thread.

Nope, no emuNand. There's no Gateway card. This only allows a 4.x sysNand + 4.x CFW for installing CIAs that either are less than 4.5 or patched CIAs.

so in that respect i need to get a sysnand of 4.x

I don't get what you mean. You already have a 4.x sys nand since you stated you're on 4.5.

Sorry, i meant if it was possible to get a 4.5 emunand as well, but would somehow defeat the point

Good job. Now just use sleep mode so you don't have to put up with the unpredictable CFW boot process.
