I thought the laptop was done working with the microsd card, so i pulled it out (the laptop has a card reader).

ends up when I reinsert it into the pc, it shows up as something like "Secure Digital micro sd card" and when i try to format it/browse through it, it says it's corrupted.

So is there a way to recover it?

if you have hexworkshop you should be able to use it to edit the sd drive, just 00(zero) fill the whole sd and you should be able to format it.

    TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

OK, time for a serious answer.

Have you tried running Scandisk on it? Seriously! I had an error on mine that kept it from being formatted and scandisk fixed it. It's worth a try.
