Is there a way to add extra wii channel slots to the main menu. I have almost filled all the channel slots and I want more.
Is there a safe way to do it?

    Nah, not really.

If you need it for more VC games, I´d recommend to use Triiforce.

if you install vc-wiiware wads with a wad manager, they will be on the system menu. You can move them to the sd card and play them there, but you will need to install a patched IOS to play them there. patched 60 for 4.1, patched 70 for 4.2, and patched 80 for 4.3. Use modmii to get them.

Yes, you can. Though, you need the Trucha-Bug in your Systemmenu IOS.

@OP: This question has been asked at least for about the fourth time, please use the search, thank you. Answer: No, you can't. If you need more Space, and don't want to reduce the lifespan of your NAND by using the official Ninty-Method, use Triiforce, or SNEEK/UNEEK. Have a look at ModMii, it should help you to set one of these up.

Uloader is also a good method to run VC/Wiiware and doesn't take much to set it up like with SNEEK/Triiforce.
