Homebrew Is there a region unlock for 11.9?

my 3DS is ver. 11.9 and i'd like to region unlock it. i want to preorder persona q2 but it'll be a copy from the US, and my 3DS is from the EU ;-;
if there is no region unlocker for this version, is there some way to downgrade it? is there also a way to switch between versions so i can still play online? i heard it was possible but i dont know if it is, or how to google it.

Easiest thing to do is get a proper cfw

So currently you are just booting the homebrew launcher?

Get luma as it will allow region free and has a lot of other advantages as well (like getting old DS flashcarts to work)

You don’t have to buy anything to install cfw...

With the latest method, Fredtool, users are required to have at least one DSiWare title before continuing. USA and JPN eShops both have at least one free DSiWare title, but in OP's case, their 3DS is EUR region, so they have to purchase a DSiWare title to continue.

Which is a little dumb for the EU eShop. But surely there's a dirt cheap DSiWare game on there. There used to be loads of that.

I'm in the UK but I still have my old DSiXL which has the Zelda Four Swords Anniversary installed when it was still being distributed.

Fredtool is the “latest” method but steelhax/frogtool still works...

edit: found a different guide in English tho and it does seem easier than using a bought dsiware game so I'll try that, thanks
