maybe just different slot supplier , making the sellers think its a newer model. The software is still the same.

Personally, I prefer non-spring loaded. I was so used to my Acekard 2i not being spring loaded that I sometimes pull the micro SD out of my Gateway without pushing down first, just out of habit. Hope I don't eventually break that spring mechanism, but I honestly think it'll just be a matter of time. :(

    That looks extremely fake.

Why? The English in the description is almost machine-translated, and Gateway is known to be one of the few flashcart maker that is actually quite proficient with English. I think this is probably a fake Chinese clone.

PS: I really like that case though, with room for the Gateway cards, a SD card and lots of microSD cards.

Typical to see complete scams on aliexpress. It's a bad clone that's probably useless in all honesty.

Today checked my one, its revision 2 Gateway 3DS as shown in Aliexpress. I can confirm surely my one isn't duplicate. I have a very close brother of mine who import original flash cart & he always loves to provide updated Jtag kit, ODE kit, flash cart in our country.

GW is just a dongle (sdcard reader). All this can be done without GW card :)

He is either trolling or has no idea what he is talking about.

Neither. The hack is all software based. If GW wants they could load games from 3DS's SDCard. Everyone with kernel access said something like "we won't release anything because it's easy to code a rom loader".

If they loaded roms from console's SD card, then no one would buy their hardware....It's either not currently possible or they intentionally designed it so the roms must be loaded from their flashcart.

Once their "multi-rom" loader gets released, it "might" be possible for someone to hack that to load roms from the SD card. But the problem is the lack of a on board save chip that the cartridge provides. So it would have to be emulated from the SD card slot. Probably not something they programmed into their launcher file. (though the best chance of them doing save emulation is when they fix the NAND based games. They would certainly have to emulate something to get that to work. :P ) So don't hold your breath on this. :P

It is easy to run ROMs from the SD card, yes. It's not more than a bit of patching and a bit own code. They rquire you only to buy their hardware, because they want money.

(but to be honest, it limits piracy and that is good, as it is)
