hi guys

I am having troubles setting up my sky3ds for a 3ds on 11.9 firmware.

Is there a guide out there that helps me set it up easierly as I been going arround in circles with several guides not knowing which one to trust?

I am not keen n cfw as its not my physical 3ds.

Thanks

Right here in GBATEMP has a great material:

But make the official guide to get the most out of sky3ds.

Hindsight being the wonderful thing it is. I was trying to get a usa rom to work via this not realizing it didnt make things region free. I now have mario kart 7. only wierdness i can see is my name is yejt gjv on the scoreboard.

Has anyone come accross the scoreboard issue?

Blue button sky can’t play modern games, so any issues you are having so far are the least of your problems...

Modern games, region free, online play, Eshop games and more are yours whenever you feel like growing up & installing CFW.

cfw alongside hex editing can fix this . . . one can find a guide for the process on that iso site
region free,
can be achieved with userland homebrew
online play,
private header

although i agree with the core of the message cfw is by far a simpler and more complete package
@blahblah you dont need to bash the users choice instead you could make a more compelling argument for cfw
like being able to play NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, PCE/TG16, SMS, GG, GEN/MD, NDS, DSi, MAME, NGP(C), and 3DS games, or emulate Linux, Atari 800/2600/Lynx, Commodore C64, 8086 DOS, Mini vMac, ScummVM, Vectrex, NEC PC-9801. Or things like custom HOME Menu themes, hacks / mods / cheats, and English fan translated games or romhacks.

thanks for your comment although they could be considered antagonistic.

would it be the ap check that causes most of my issues?

I don’t care if it’s antagonistic..

Not being able to play modern games is anti-piracy related, yes.

Running cfw defeats the purposes of Sky. Running userland homebrew defeats the purpose of Sky. Dumping a private header and injecting it into each and every game is easily detectable (and without ways to unban yourself, unlike how things are with CFW).

I appreciate your input on my tactics, but I am going to continue to do whatever I feel is appropirate in any given situation without regards for your views.

nope you are incorrect if in a n3dsxl it has its usefulness like not needing a screwdriver to add games or not needing cia install times

as i would expect but im only informing you that you cant aggressively push your agenda and honestly expect it to resonate well with your audience . . . you catch more fly's with honey than vinegar . . . thats not my view its a fact

I don’t see it. The image burner software is at similar levels of inconvience as having to FTP into the system and send over a game. I don’t see install times as an inconvience - having to cycle a button one at a time through an invisible list of games is worse.

Again, I am going to do what I feel is correct without regard for your views, regardless of whether you define said views or fact or what-have-you.

also both of these two above quotes are flat out incorrect

homebrew does not invalidate anything
and this is not the switch a private header will work flawlessly

Sky3ds has said themselves that private headers are not 100% safe.
https://gbatemp.net/threads/private-header-ban.404048/
is thread does not definitively prove either way. although it would have definitely been enough to quell my (and the average lurkers) curiosity's . . . in fact it sounds like sky giving a response equivalent to "hey if you get banned while using one its not our fault" while their website suggest its a safe course of action . . . also if it really were not safe there would be threads wherein hoards of people using gateway and sky complained about being banned . . . its more about the term 100%, like Lysol (and other antibacterial products) no one can guarantee 100% because they dont want to be sued due to a unforeseen (sometimes impossibly) rare situation that may or may not rely on outside interaction ... but like i said this is enough info for me, thank you
