I'll be honest - I've not looked in to emulation of the DS, so this question may be redundant. Can current emulators, and if so which, load up a GBA .sav file, at the same time as a DS game?

For example, Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. With the DSi, the Pal Park may as well not be there, as there's no way to put my Fire Red/Leaf Green cart in, and transfer my Pokémon across. However, is it possible to boot a Diamond rom file on a DS emulator, load a FR/LG .sav file, and the emulator would 'trick' the game in to thinking that cart is inserted as well?

Apologies if that came out awkward, I'm trying to find the best way to word it. I know there's cheats (again, using Pokémon as an example) to 'hack' the unobtainable Pokémon in to your game, but it's not the same.

desmume have that feature (slot 2 rom load)
load ds rom, and set slot 2 to gba rom and pick your gba rom.
So this allows GBA to DS connectivity, in the form of Pokémon, Megaman et al?
