Up until a few weeks ago...I didn't know it was possible to, use a Gateway with a 9.2 3DS...I stopped caring about 3ds emulation 1 or 2 years ago when one needed to have a 4.5 3ds to use a gateway...so I updated my consoles everytime I needed to check the e-shop for new games or to update X, Y and OR...It's only because I have been lurking for rougly a month that I don't ask for CIA or roms on my 9.9 3dses...

You pretty much sign a social contract when coming here. I have brokenn it a few times and most people have at least once. Just do a little research, and if you still can't find it, then ask. Ironic coming from me though, I ask a lot of questions to make sure the answer is specific to me.

Not really. This one is fine, just people get annoyed at those that don't bother searching for the answer first, instead creating a new thread similar to plenty before. I've just gotten to the point where I ignore those threads, it's far less annoying. This community is actually pretty good for asking and answering more obscure questions.

I think the bitterness of the more long-term members gets put down to some form of post-traumatic stress disorder.

We've been through the multi-rom flood, the sky3ds flood, the poke flood, the dev menu flood, the ninjhax flood, the gateway-new3ds flood and many others floods.

Us pre-2013 members have seen some shit man, we've seen some shit.

Wow. Looking at the Reddit board, the people are so much more well-behaved. There's a post on there about a DS emulator, which is obviously not around, and the more...involved users simply let them know that it is not possible and suggested a flash card. Over here, you'll get kicked into a ditch and burned with fire for saying something like that...

The site itself and the moderators, as well a good portion of the users are cool. I don't want this site to wither away or something, I just can't handle some of the people here anymore.

When the mods start jumping on threads just to flame, shitpost and abuse people, then it's a problem.

As for the users here, if you don't like a thread for whatever, don't post, just click report and shut the fuck up.
Some poor asshole (or assher) asked for some help with cia files last week, I jumped in to help out but the GBAtemp circlejerk commitee beat me to it. 3 pages of abuse, not one offer to help. Seriously, this fucking site and the people it attracts.

And when you people are shitposting people looking for help, remember, not everyone sits on the forum everyday to read 300 pages of a thread where the OP is never updated to get all the relevant info one needs (look in the homepass 1st page for a reference to NBAhomepass for example), sometimes doing a search just produces more fragmented questions than answers. Some people have lives, jobs, families, studies, bills to pay and other concerns.

Help out or report, and leave the moderating to the moderators. This place was supposed to be for everyone.
