The wii u is dead and production stopped. The game won't be a launch title for the switch and could come out in summer next year or something. It could be a waste of money to make disc for the wii u since it is dead. I don't think BotW will be on the wii u. What do you think?

    About a 100% chance, yes.
Nintendo doesn't just announce one of the biggest games ever for a system and then say "Oh sorry you wanted this brand new game on the Wii U that we've already shown off is a Wii U game? Well, we've got a new 300$ game console, you can just buy that if you wanna play it."

Yeah no. Nintendo employees would be crucified if they tried to pull that.

Yes, BotW will arrive on Wii U. It will sell two copies all over the world.
Thanks, Nintendo: I bought Wii U three years ago for this game...

No matter how dead the wiiu is, that still doesn't change the fact that there's already an installed base of 13 million out in the wild.

It's going to be the last major release on the Wii U, just like Twilight Princess was for the Gamecube.

A system isn't dead just because production stopped. You could release Zelda on Wii and it would still sell relatively well. People still own and use Wii U systems (as do I).

Well Nintendo has sold around 13 million Wii U units world wide. By the time the game comes out the Wii U will still have a bigger install base than the Switch ( really doubt the Switch will sell 14+million units on a couple of months)

it will come out for wii u. IMO the whole delay is just business strategy by nintendo.

if they want to sell more switch at launch better to have an exclusive title. from those 14 million wii u users, a good proportion won't buy a switch at launch to play breath of the wild as they will be able to play it on their old console. So instead nintendo will make other exclusives like mario game to make switch more appealing at launch.

I can't see why wild would be delayed for any other reason, can't see it being that innovative a game to see the number of delays it has had

I dare say that the wiiu version of BOTW will become quite the collectors item in the future. Because as you have pointed out, the wii u's lifespan will have truly ended by the time of release and I can't see too many copies of this game being sold on the wii u.

The rumors started back in 2014-15 it wouldn't come to WiiU, the November 2015 edition of Nintendo direct they re-iterated it would come to Wii-U. They would be facing a class action at this point if they bumped it. You can't bait at Christmas season like that with crystal clear statements then get away with it.

depending on what happens, i may still buy it for the wii u, otherwise i may save for the switch and buy it there.

Yeah, of course it will. BotW will be a dual-release on WiiU and NS.
