Is their anyway safe way to update backups as of now. I know some people said to update in ofw? I was just wondering what everyone thought.

The words "safe" and "backup" cannot be used in the same sentence without the word "not" somewhere in between. Updating the backups in OFW is probably your safest bet but people have still been banned despite that so weigh the risks with how much you care about online services.

I hear going online in any form is still considered risky. Just because you load into OFW to update doesn’t mean that the switch isn’t sending out information to Nintendo that may get you banned.
