Is the Dr. Mario 64 ROM very different from other N64 ROMs?

gives me a black screen when injected into a N64 VC wad.

This is because certain games use different OPcodes for example Zelda OOT and super mario 64 use different OPcodes so the emulators located in their respective vc wad is coded different another example is Doom64 can be injected into super mario 64 but doesn't go past press start it just freeze's

Any game that might have similar OPcode with DM64? I tried Kirby 64(in Kirby Dream Collection), and Sin&Punishment.(Both US)
MK64 works with Kirby 64.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
