im not aware of that information yet and havent seen any news about it so far
There are leaks suggesting it is Region Free, like the old Nintendo handhelds
But It's also a console so knowing Nintendo NOOOOOOOOOOPE for region free gaming.
Nintendo insiders said it is region free, as did Emily Rogers
What about DLC like are we going to need to have two ID's like for example one for English games and another for Japanese games.
Don't know yet, you should ask that woman on Twitter
We should start collecting bets.
Region lock versus Region Free.
If it has region lock, those who bet region free has to get a Just Dance game.
If it is region free, those who bet region lock has to buy a Switch eshop game.
I'm betting for Region lock.
I think because they really want 3rd party support it will be considered.
Nintendo's been region-locking their home consoles since the TV Game 6 ( although that was unintentional I imagine). The 3DS was their first region locked handheld though, so who knows with the half-breed.
why just dance? that's so....uh.....
this summer, I saw my 220 lbs friend play the game in front of his tv (I still remember the japanese song: chiwawa, never gonna get out my brain).
I would love region free so I can play the Taiko games without any kind of hacking/modding. The reason I downgraded my original 3DS in the first place was so I could play the Taiko 3DS games.
As some time ago Nintendo said, the was thinking on make the next console RF

some people even buy a console from other region to play the 1st taiko when no hack existed
Nintendo could really profit if the Switch is region free. (We could also see another game like My Japanese Coach on the DS)
Well yeah I don't have the money to buy a console just so I can play the Taiko games.
I think Japan would decline. They are very self righteous about their culture and hate anything outside of their bubble impacting their lives. If you go into a Japanese or Korean online games they require ssid's just to make an account. They think your a trolling catfish before accepting your out of their country. They will how ever take your money so hey it's possible. I just imagine them not being as accepting with games like medabots 9 which has a much higher fan base in japan than other countries and then they would have to pay for voice acting and re write the english or gameplay like fire emblem with a girl/guy becoming a guygirl and falling in love. As it would be considered brainwashing to a community.
It won't be region-free. I'm 99% sure. If Nintendo wanted region-free, they would have disabled the 3DS region-lock via a simple system update. Think about it. Nintendo is a family company. Its reason behind the region-lock is that different countries have different age rating systems. It's very, very unlikely that Nintendo throws its region-lock policy away just because a new system is released.
But hey, maybe the new president is a bloodthursty-call-of-duty-zombie-killer-racist-murderer and wants to take Nintendo in a different direction.
Then again, maybe not.
kindly suggest another game to use as a wager.
The only thing confirmed regarding the Switch is that Nintendo is hiding information like if it were Project Manhattan.
Hell, it releases in four months and they still haven't shown even one real screen of the switch running anything.
And I pull it out of my ass that it will be region locked, because Nintendo.
