My bad. But seriously though, sheik is treated as a different person in Smash so Nintendo kind of confirm she is a separate persona from sage of time and the fact that sheik cannot perform advanced magic.
It must have been cruel to her that the shared body will forever be under the control of sage of time.

Yes, and it can mess with your mind a bit, which in this case create sheik as a separate persona and make the sage of time the damsel in distress kind. But sheik persona is forever gone as she transform back into her original form, which in this case is an adult.
Compare this to tetra, though tetra is luckier than sheik.
