People have been using homebrew for two years, no problems. I have Retroarch and ftp on both dev and retail modes. Homebrew is probably the main reason most hackers leave the Xbox consoles alone now. Surely, Microsoft doesn't want to open that can of worms.

You don't really have much control anyway.
