Why would you want to reset it?

Actually... what do you EXACTLY mean by resetting it?

I mean... you could... but if you're talking about using the Wii System Menu to "reset" it to factory... then no, nothing will happen.
It might delete the Homebrew Channel (but just the homebrew channel)

Now, if you truly want to delete all your cIOS and Homebrew and that stuff... I wouldn't recommend it.
What I'd do is that I'd use something to lock the access to homebrew... I'm sure there's software to do that, just that I don't know which one is... not sure if it's even possible!

It's difficult to know which cIOS you have to delete. It might brick your console and you can't sell a bricked console (but nothing's stopping you... have in mind that many people sold banned 3DS with no seeds on them)

alrighty then seems like resetting it to factory settings is the safest and easiest way to do it so i'll go with that

Yeah, if the Homebrew Channel isn't deleted (the Channel) delete it too.
And if you have BootMii you can set it to "Boot into System Menu" in order to hide it.

It'll be a big surprise for the new owners if they find out about this LOL.

It's a shame that you have to sell your Wii. But I'd do the same if I had to.

yeah it's a real shame but a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do to build himself a good pc. I'm also gonna sell my gamecube and ps4. I already sold my SNES. The only console i'll keep is my dsi because it's almost broken.

Wiis are hardly worth anything these days. Might not be worth selling it. Anyway, it's worth more modded (to some people)
Performing a factory reset will not delete installed channels (IIRC) or cIOS so it will not remove the mods.
