The 600 MB savings only applies if the system in question is an N3DS with the 1.8 GB NAND. If it has a 1.2 GB NAND, then there's no space savings.

(Or, a 2DS with either the 1.2 GB or 1.8 GB NAND, in which case you'd save ~300 MB or ~900 MB, respectively.)

Whoops, yeah forgot about the other 3DS's/Different NAND chips.
