Gaming is it worth buying a new wii first edition console sealed?

Hello. I have wii family edition and I want to play gamecube games. Is it worth to buy a brand new wii console. the sport edition (not resort) and keep it in the box for five years and then sell it or just buy second hand wii? the price of the new one 180$. the second hand console cost 60$-90$. Because if I could sell it at least for double price in the future I think it's worth it.

I don't think it is but than again it is your family, maybe they will find it more worthy and fun by playing it, if they will love it you might reconsider selling it, and I know Israels economy... so I know that after you buy it you won't get a second chance with PlayStation, I really recommend the second hand market

Well there's several editions. Original sold millions yet chances are most have been opened.

Contents-wise one of the best bundles has a gamecube compatible wii, remote plus (not just motion plus), both sports and resort.

I remember I was enjoying buying consoles and stuff from ebay. But one day I opened my eyes and saw "global shipping program" with unreasonable shipping cost and tax but only if I buy from us seller. The problem is that all the best stuff and 90% of the sellers are from us. For example: wii u 250$. Shipping and tax 150 $. Total 400 $. and you know what it still much cheaper than buy it in israel. But only last generation consoles. My point is that if I going to buy something especially something new I don't want to be how you say it in english? wait I check with google translate... sucker.

I bought the brand new Wii Inazuma Eleven Strikers bundle from Amazon, it is GC compatible, Wiimote+, great price, was and still is worth it. I bought it in February 2013. Altho I don't quite get your question, you are trying to make profit from selling unsealed bundles? I don't think it's worth it, especially since they discontinued the WiFi. But don't take my word for it lol

It does not matter anymore. I bought a second hand WII in good condition for 20 pounds.
