Is it safe now to update to 19.0.1?

I'm aware of all the problems 19.0.0 brought (overheating, battery draining, console not actually sleeping) and now that today I bought a game that released recently, I can't play it until I update so I'm wondering... did 19.0.1 fix the issues? I'm still holding on in 18.1.0 avoiding the update like the plague.

I tested 19.0.1 yesterday with ams 1.8.0, it works, but the battery drain is around the same as 19.0.0, maybe slightly better

It's unlikely there's any game already requiring 19.0.1 when that firmware just came out. That's never how it works.

Maybe it's a game with day 1 update, and the update requires latest system version to download?

Anyway people say the same thing for every update comes out (battery drain/crash/unstable/etc.) and in most cases it's just user error. It's already 7 years into switch's lifecycle so i doubt nintendo will screw up an update and cause issues.

Bottom line is if you want to use nso then update, there's no other choice. As for cfw side of things, atmospere/hekate/sigpatches are all updated to support 19.0 although atmosphere is still in beta.

Mario Party Jamboree has a day 1 update, and it works on 18.1.0. What games have come out after that?

What's the game you're having trouble with ?

Metal Slug Tactics requires 19.0. It's not a problem, it's more like being tempted to update despite the problems the latest firmware carries.

Only the update does which I get it some people won't play a game without the update. I will unless there's game breaking bugs.

Platform : Nintendo Switch
Required Firmware: Base – v18.1.0 | Update – v19.0.0
Rom Type: .NSP

I actually also updated because of that game. Found out it was a big fucking mistake but got it working after getting the new sigpatches and also just using sys-patch.
Then I downgraded back to 18.1.0 and it's still working somehow. Can't complain, if it works it works.

In my case I bought the game, despite having CFW I still play my purchased games mainly. I'm amazed Nintendo still hasn't adressed this, it can't take this long, unless they just don't care.
