Homebrew Is it possible to use IR port on laptop with 3ds

I have an O3DS XL on firmware 11.6.0-39U with luma 9.1 and was wondering if I could use my laptop which has an IR port to pretend it is the NFC reader and load amiibo dumps.

That's an interesting idea.
If the IR port is just for a media center remote or similar you probably can't send raw data with it so it won't work. Also, the 3DS doesn't use IrDA either, it's some custom protocol. But as long as you can send raw data it can in theory be made to work.

Now hang on, is it an IR blaster or an IR receiver?

The specs page on my manufacturers website shows it as a "Consumer IR (Remote Receiver)" how do I mark an answer as the best answer?
