Gaming Is it possible to use a dvd drive from a computer as a replacement disc drive for a Nintendo Wii

If this is possible what are a list if a few dvd drives that would be compatible? Thanks.

This was possible to do in the very early days of og Xbox with a few off the shelf drives...

But at last the Wii uses a special drive. The most you could get out of a off the shelf drive are a few components compatible.

Keep in mind that the original Wiis has the ability to grab the smaller GameCube discs as well. That was a specially-designed mechanism that you won't find in a non-Nintendo drive.
