I have a 4.2 3DS with Gateway and Rx, but I obviously don't wanna update because I'll lose exploitabilty. However, I do want to system transfer from my current 3DS to my 3DS XL so I can keep my shit. Is it possible?

I think the easiest way is to do it manually:

If your current 3DS is not exploitable, I think there is a way to do an emuNAND-NAND system transfer if you updated the emuNAND on the source system, but I'm not quite sure what the steps for that are. You'd have to look for it. But I've done two system transfers manually already using that guide, so it's not terribly difficult if you are able to do it.
