I've recently been trying to play a couple of mods to Persona 3 FES that replaces the music and lets you control your party. When I tried the mod out on PCS2X everything was running perfectly, the game boots up the music is altered as it suppose too and I can control my party. However, when I tried to run this on my ps3 using Multiman and the Cobra emulator, the game will boot up a black screen for a bit, than a gray screen and do a soft reset to the main menu.

Some mods are only compatible with pcsx2. Others are within the constraints of the system like the KH2FM translation, etc.

It really depends on the internal emulator compatibility. Normally, a game that runs fine in its original form will run ok with mods, unless said mods uses too much memory or any other bypasses to run on a PS2 that aren't compatible with the PS3.

For exemple: I tested some Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 mods that worked fine on ps3, but some GTA mods won't work at all.
Just keep trying until you find what works.
