On a phat nds it should be no problem just run noflashme.nds

A way to check if it will work is probably to boot flashme.nds and see if it recognizes your original firmware or if it says "?"

On a NDSL i belive thier is no way (at this time) to uninstall flashme

You can't put the original firmware back on yet.
Noflashme.nds puts on the V6 firmware (for an old DS), one which has the 4 lighting levels, but all the DS main menu options crash the system. (remember that the V6 DS's DO have the brightness chip, as do the V5 DS's).
