yes, online play and multicard multiplayer work fine, its the single cart which is dodgy on all slot 1 cards except cyclods

if youre talking about the slot 2, then the same applies only singlecart is completely nonexistant

Flashcards would be almost useless without online play.
I have a couple of friends who play online though

Ive played Mario Kart Animal Crossing online and traded some pokemon with my g6 it works perfekt

What they're saying is that online multiplayer works fine. Local multiplayer with single card download play DOESN'T work on anything but the CycloDS at the moment.

In other words, if you try to send a game to a friend with a DS (standing right next to you) from your flashcard, most games won't work. Using the WFC to play online DOES work.

There is also the G6DS Real. Of course not as good as CycloDS but still many games are supported.
