Hacking Is it possible to let the Wii reading DVD+-RW´s

Hi guys,
I don´t want to buy DVD-R´s constantly, so I´d like to burn my backups on RW DVD´s.
Now my question is, is it possible to let the Wii reading DVD+/- RW´s?
I have modded my Wii already.

yeah,,, but get a good media and burn at slow speed (2x)
But, a flash drive or HDD is better and faster!

IIRC its not possible
R already strains the drive and RW is even harder to read
and btw overwriting kinda defeats the purpose of backups (well unless you resell the games really fast)

Id switch to USB based backups faster, cheaper & less hassle

well maybe it is possible but Id still avoid it

I used to play my games on HDD but it often crashes.
Is it possible to play the DVD+RW with DarkCorp on the usual Game Channel?

Sry, but what exactly do you mean by a "good media" ^^?

I have ELGIN DVD+RW 4x and my Wii LU62 can read this DVD+RW Great. I never got any problem.
But I prefer USB Loading => Uneek 154 + JoyLoader_CFG 2.0 by scooby!

You will kill your drive.

If you use RW it will die quick, if you use -R it will take longer and still kill the drive, and if you use originals then it will take longer but again kill your drive. Some of the newer drive models are not so bad but they wont allow backups.

The weakest link in the chain of loading a game is the Wiis drive, switch to USB asap imho.

Oh and I don't care who argues with me, my kids have a wii on 24/7, sometimes 2 wiis, we got a Wii on the launch day and have killed many drives

I´ve burned Donkey Kong Contry Returns with 2x speed, but it wont work.
I´ve tried it by using Gecko OS and NeoGamma but it always says an Error.

Any other ideas

?

Time ago dvd-rw just worked with hardmoded wii.


Im not sure if its fixed with "new" cIOS on softmoded consoles
