I had an idea for a homebrew app that i would like to help w/
i would only be able to do the graphics and maybe some other stuff...

It would be a Pokesav for the DS that could edit Everything like on pokesav for the computers
I already got some graphics made i just need some help programing it i don't care how many people help as long as they are reliable and skilled

I gotten some files from a previous Pokesav DS that may be useful

    Please help.

I don't think the DS is powerful enough.

The ds IS powerful enough for this, but there is not much point. The pc version is easy enough to use, and it will be far too much work porting it for very little reward.

Won't even work on a DSi since you can't switch carts.

Protip: unless you can program, you're going to have a hard time finding anybody to help you out.

Well it doesn't really seem to be hard to make this, i was looking in programming for the DS 1 year ago,
so I know a bit about it.
I think that it would be a great idea to make it for the DS but it's just as DanTheManMS said, you will have a hard time finding someone if you can't programm yourself.

What you want to do is not hard at all, but first you have to learn about Hex(Adresses and values) than some simple programming basics like loops, initalation, functions... (not sure if I used the correct words now, since i learned it in german)
After that you you set up you programming enviroment for DS (Of course you need something like libnds) and learn how to use the learned basics of programmin for DS.

I belive it wouldn't even take you a week to learn everything you need for your project!

EDIT: It's just the fastest and best way to get you project done [IMG]

Hmm.. I've only done a little DS programming, so I don't know much about it. But what I do know about is the Pokemon D/P Save Structure (specifically the first block of data, which holds trainer info).

But you'd really need someone who knows there way around the DS..

This idea has come up before. The main problem at the time was that Pokemon .sav files are encrypted, and the coders for Pokesav will no longer tell you how to decrypt the saves. If you can't read the .sav file, you can't make a Pokesav DS program.

I'm unsure if this has changed as I've not payed it much attention in a while.

How about playing a Pokémon game on a flashcart? Since you'd use a flashcart for this anyway.

I could see this happening. But you should take a look and figure out how the original PokeSAV works, then figure out a way to reproduce it on the NDS. Specifically I wouldn't want it to look like the original if I was programing it, It would have those menus like the picture you posted. Then again, like someone said, the original PokeSAV team won't give anyone the knowledge of how to encrypt the saves, so you would bust there unless you figured it out yourself.
