Depends which console version you have.
in theory YES you could!.... as to if it works or not WHO KNOWS!? ... try it and see
why can you not just a DVD-R like everyone else?!
you do know that DVDRW are in fact more expensive than DVD-R write once only disks!
You can use DVD-RW.
I use them to try out unfinished patches on games, such as the translation for Namco X Capcom English patch.
Everytime they update the patch, I reburn it.
Our console is SCPH-750004 and its PAL. its modded but I have no idea which modchip is used.
The disc I used is a DVD+RW, does it make much difference between using a DVD-RW ?
Thats a damn good idea
It is possible to play DVD-R or DVD+R on a PS2 slim. I had a PS2 SCPH 70004 and it played Rewritalbe DVDs fine with Swap Magic until it got damaged by a Consolemodding Team when they build me in a Matrix Infinity then it didn't work anymore now I have a V7 PS2 and with the same Chip that I took out of my damaged Slim PS2 and soldered in in the new one, but it doesn't play all my rewritable DVD anymore. Now I am using them only for PC tasks.
I DO have a new slim (not the newest that has integrated power brick in it, a regular slim). So should my DVD+RW work? I tried image burn and Nero both at 4x, none of them worked. Any suggestion?
Guess it isn't new enough. You've tried a DVD-R right?
It's a V13 or V14...it should be new enough according to the drive info listed.
I just have DVD+RW, I wanted to know if its supposed to work and I've done something "roang" or whatnot.
What software u guiz use for burning PS2 games?
nero @ 2.4x speed, its always worked fine for me
I only used DVD+R though
I tried a DVD-R with ImgBurn @ 4x, it loads but needs to open and close the lid. not playable.
sorry if i'm asking the obvious but are you using a hardmod or softmod to play your games?
He's using Hardmod.
Oooooh, I thought he softmodded it... You really need to find out which chip it is then.
I donno what modchip I have and I'm way to afraid to open my PS2. I think this helps though: I have to reset two times in order to boot PSX games.
Its interesting, people are using both Nero and ImgBurn here with both DVD-R and DVD+R but none seem working for me.
Isnt my buggy loading screen on that burned disc, show that I have to burn at a lower speeds, which is 2.4?
I'm still desperate to find any answer!
Might be a DUO3 Gold...
