Tablets seem way overpriced. Is it possible to build your own, like you would a PC?
You could make one on your own with a Raspberry Pi but to me it's not worth, you end paying more in pieces (LCD, battery, 3D printed case etc.) than a tablet. Ultimately, tablet are useless and you very much likely already have a smartphone. If you use a tablet as a pc then you're wrong.
With a raspberry pi or CHIP or other singleboard computer you could, but as 4ur0r said it wouldn't be worth it, it's not worth having a tablet at all imo
You could, but tablets are so cheap these days that there is no point.
You could snatch a tablet for cheap now in the holidays :3
You totally can:
It's in my to-do list but might be a bit of a stretch any time soon considering the initial price and labor-time but it's somewhat "future-proof" so it pays off in the long run.
You could design your own pcb (done it), print it (not done it), solder everything together, and 3D-print a case. It'll only cost you $5-15,000, and will run about half as well as a low-end tablet.
Honestly it is not worth it as low end tablets are much better for the price
