I believe not because it would require a direct connection to the console.

    Still not.

A possible way but annoying for carrying would be to modify an SD card so it becomes a wire that ends into a USB plug. But still. Will that work? You need power for Hard Drive.

The Wii U had external HDD support; but you had to format it to that stupid Proprietary Format. Although, If they do add said feature in an update; I hope it'll just use NTFS, FAT32, or exFAT.

I doubt it as well. But, isn't the microSD formatted as FAT32 or NTFS? Something like that~

if they add hdd support, they should also make an easy-to-use app to transfer files from hdd to microsd, so you can get hdd games easily on the go

The thing is it won't work as whenever we take the switch out of the dock it would reconnect hdd and transferring to microscope isn't feasible as it seems, it eodcertsiy cause trouble and require people to.have empty memory card just to play the game in portable mode

I remember this also. I remember reading on flipboard that in the future they may add hdd support for the dock so when the system is docked you will be able to store and play your massive switch library.

The system is actually ready to take external USB drives for additional storage via ports on the dock. You wouldn't be able to take games with you, so Nintendo is still looking at it and thus this option wasn't active at launch.
