ROM Hack Is it normal that cias take forever to install via FBI on "Ultra" and "Extreme" SD cards?

It takes larger games (2GB) like smash bros 20-30mins to install. is this normal? I don't expect them to be instant but I feel like the install time is longer than it should be. Even 100mb-300mb games take 5-10mins.

Is this the same for everyone else?

Same here, it's one of the annoying parts about CIAs.

pretty sure installing is capped to 1MB/s no matter what you're using.

it took me 12~ hours on each DS to install my cias. If you're worried about bricking your emunand and having to install everything again you can make a copy of your SD card on your computer + use the emunand tool to copy the emunand with it. if you ever brick your emunand you can just format the card and copy all the contents back along with any saves extracted with savedatafiler.cia. restoring your card like that takes a fraction of the time

You probably have a fake SD card, or just a slow one.
It took me under 2 minutes to install a 160MB game and less than 10 for a 2.4GB game.

Plug your SD card into your computer and run CrystalDiskMark on it.
Does copying CIA files to it take a long time?
