Hacking Is it normal for the R4 to drain my battery?

I fully charge my DS, and only after playing 4-6 hours, my DS gets the RED light.

Is this normal?

I'd expect watching DPG's especially with the volume at say %400 percent would drain the batteries quickly

Do you have a slot2 card also? I hear those drain the battery about 10% faster. I would imagine that it will do that whether you're using the slot2 card or the slot1, as long as it's plugged in.

DS lite battery life per brightness level:
Lowest Brightness: 15-19 hours
Second Brightness: 10-15 hours
Third Brightness: 7-11 hours
Maximum Brightness: 5-8 hours

The lowest number in each category is DS games, highest number is GBA.

DS lite takes 3 hours to charge from a dead battery.


The numbers listed assume that the battery is working at full capacity and is not old or worn out. Volume level will also affect the numbers listed. WiFi even more so.

Porn seems to drain my DS 20% faster than anything else.

But seriously, I get about 12 hours of game play on brightness=2 with headphones, no wi-fi, and ~50% volume. The jury is still out about battery life, M3 Simply and sleep mode... I never kept track. My guess that music tends to drain a lot more than a game, especially MP3s because they are an old format that have inefficient compression schemes. Am I right about that?
