Hey I have a few customers OLED switchs that I messed up the lcd zif fpc / ribbon cable connector on and i was having an awful time replacing them myself and I found a local guy that said it was a repair he was confident with and he was saying that he replaced the connector on all of them are still only operational on the dock (no lcd) and that he thinks the display IC has a problem and need to be replaced

I was just thinking it has to be the most unlikely thing on planet earth for all 3 of them to end up with a damaged IC from bent pins in the FPC

Was wondering if its something that fails commonly when there is bent pins or is it more likely the FPC replacement is bad?

(one of these consoles had a broken latch and not bent pins too, which makes me feel like its even more unlikely)

PS. This happened to me so many times because my PCB mount was bending the pins and I had no idea until quite recently :(

Nope, less often the PF3I LCD DRIVER ic goes bad. Its more often the dat0 adapter install incorrectly and ground up the 2 test points next to the bracket .
You can compare the diode reading with my measurement/

There are 2 round test points next to the EMMC right where a DAT0 adapter would go. If you use one those adapters, it may be shorting or interfering with them.
