I've noticed just now that I still have the 1803 build, and It never updated my version to 1809 when Windows released it.
Now I'm "stuck" with my laptop, it keeps telling me to restart my laptop in order to update my build, but it won't do anything.
Every single time I turn off my laptop it ALWAYS shows "Update and Shut Down" (Actualizar y Apagar) and I'm tired of it.
So, I went to the Configuration -> Security and Update and it "downloads" the update, after that, it tells me to Restart my computer and the Update freezes at 30%, it resets back to my desktop and when I go check my build, it stays at 1803.

Right now I'm using a Windows Tool to download the most recent update (1809) but I've seen that some says that's NOT SAFE TO UPDATE TO THIS VERSION JUST YET

Is it safe or nay?

my main desktop is on win 7 but my laptop is win 10. I do nothing too important on my laptop.
i'd say update it because it's not like you have a choice. it will update all by itself eventually :P
That's what I thought it should do, but it's been a week auto-updating itself for nothing.
I honestly want to have it update, so it can auto-update automatically without downloading tools to do it.

You lucky dude, I wish I had a Windows 7 computer.

1809 is on a slow release cycle because it’s caused many problems on a wide range of hardware (causing them to pull it entirely for a month and a half before going to this slow release cycle).

If you can see the update, it should be fine, however it is probably safer to hide this update for a month to allow more bugs to be worked out before it automatically tries to force the update anyway.

And generally if an update fails, delete the update cache/store to let it scan, download and apply the update cleanly.

Thanks, but I used Windows Update Assistant.
I've been using build 1809 without any problems at all.
