So I was thinking of flashing my DS cus I traded in my R4 for a superior acekard 2.1

Only thing I don't like about the acekard is that it doesn't skip the fucking health & safety warning.

So I know that flashme gets rid of that but does it do anything else? I am the only person I know IRL with a DS so DL play I don't care. I don't have a GBA card or anything.

GOOD
+No more health & safety screen

BAD
-Risk bricking DS!

Is it worth the risk?

PS: I remember reading about a cool OS someone was making for the DS what happened with that?

Personally, I like the fact that I can download play without having to take my cart out and leave it half inserted so I don't lose it, so for me it's a good thing xD

Lol, why risk it just to get a quick pass on the Health screen?

A new DS is 130.

Buy a different Cart if you want to pass it, you'd end up saving in the long run.

if u have a phat ds there is very little chance of bricking it unless you screw up bad. I have a phat and flashed it a loooong time ago and it was a breeze. If u have a lite i wouldn't recommend it because it's very easy to brick it so not worth it.

There's very little risk as long as you're not a complete klutz and/or idiot. If you're a grown man and worried about this, then...I have nothing to say.

do u have a lite or a phat? i said before, it's almost impossible to brick a phat unless you do something retarded. if you have a dslite though i heard those things can brick easily so IDK, i personally wouldn't risk a lite but I said it before, phat can be flashed VERY easily.

do u have a phat or lite?

I'd say yes, you should flash it. I remember all the flashing issues when the DSL first came out and there were only Slot 2 flashcards. Some of the very early flashers bricked their DSLs, but as soon as it was learnt how to avoid shorting out the flashing tool, it became very easy. I've flashed multiple DSLs without even thinking about it, and many others have done a lot more than me.

You just have to do a little reading, choose your flashing tool and prepare it carefully (e.g. electrical tape wrapped around a paperclip). If you know what you are doing, it is highly unlikely to brick. Until reading your post, I had entirely forgotten that there was a health & safety warning on the DS

I was thinking about doing it just not to long ago.
Tho I choosen not to do it.
Seeing the fact flashcarts no longer require the NDS to be flashed.
And that you will lose any type of warranty on the product.
I advise not to flash it unless you wanna swap your warranty for skipping a warning screen.

Cause thats what youre about to do: Swap your warranty for your DS skipping a warning screen.
Ah yes forgot to mention the chance of bricking it ^^

Is that worth it?
Your choise!

Well I guess then warranty wont be a problem for you

Then it just leaves the chance of bricking.
I never did it before; tho it seems all about using the right flashing tool.

Seems to be the perfect one

I also read that you need your NDS to be fully charged.
(In some youtube reply I read a guy reply-ing that having a charger connected doesnt mather - Dunno about this but having it fully charged is a must)
(Make sure the battery doesnt fall out)

However I also read that when flashing fails after a sertain % (tought 30%)
Its still possible to recover the NDS by using a few keys on boot up.

(If anyone knows the exact amount of % that needs to be written to recover if bricked please note)
(If anyone knows the keys to use to boot the NDS after bricking please note)

Anyways I wish you good luck hope you get it going
