The odd typo and some characters calling you a man when you're infact female. Nothing major at all.
Don't forget the mistranslations, cut content, and outright deleted scenes - an entire support conversation's dialogue was replaced with just "...", and the occasional meme here and there. I gotta admit, it's not as bad as other Treehouse games in the meme department, but "rawwwrrrgghhh is dragon for i wuvs you" is definitely jarring and not something you'd expect from a Fire Emblem game.

Here's a quick comparison of the scenes in japanese and english so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.

In general Fates' translation is pretty poor. That coupled with the fact that the game was arbitrarily split into two cartridges when the game itself could've fit in a single one (as proven by the special edition) and the lazy character designs, I'd say the shoddy localization/translation job is the least of your worries.

Topic: is fire emblem fate FAN TRANSLATE good
Bad grammar but he ain't asking for a review of the US release. People are complaining too much about that, just let it go and be happy they released it out of Japan all together.

I'll admit I'm getting a little carried away with the US release - yes I'm still a bit mad about it- but your logic is all kinds of wrong. It's a shame that NoA can get away with butchering a game's script like this and we're all supposed to shut up and pay up for a copy just because there's no other way we would've gotten in anyway. What happened to quality translations like Animal Crossing's?

That said, to answer the OP's question, yes, the fan translation will be much better than the official product, so I recommend you get that once it's done. Shouldn't take too long until it's finished, and it's better to be patient so you can enjoy the game fully.

Still no EU release...
I'm in the same boat ;-; I wish we could at least pre-order it or something, we don't even have a date yet </3

Hmm... I understand your frustration. I get that you want the same experience as the original game, but I still feel people are blowing this out of proportion. That's just my opinion though. One thing that does annoy me about the whole localisation thing is the removal of touchey facey time. Like yeah, it is kinda creepy, and I'm not against it being removed. But at least put something to fill that gap? All that's left there now is out of context dialogue </3

So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM
