The emulator is perfect and possibly the best I've ever used on the handheld, I especially love the rollback feature it has. The only reason I ask is because it hasnt been updated for nearly 3 years and wondering if there are any plans to update it or at the very least release the source code to the public to have it updated.

Also is there a better GameBoy/Color emulator than LameBoy? My only gripe with it is the UI (minor) and the lack of cheats. I enjoy cheating in my games long after I beat them.

TempGBA and GameYob are both projects that I happen to have improved in different ways.

The community didn't believe it initially when I said the Supercard Team forked over the source for NDSGBA, but it paid off in the end with TempGBA. All it took was an email sent to them in Chinese, then a few more written in English. See the first post of the TempGBA thread for an incomplete list of improvements, and the first 7 pages or so if you want to know the hows and whys of getting the source code.

As for GameYob, I helped mostly with its performance in the beginning. Drenn has continued working on the emulation, and lately the scaling to full-screen and Super Game Boy/custom border support. He has stated that Lameboy being closed-source was a trend he wanted to break.

I'm trying to use TempGBA, I added the plugin files into the plugin folder on my microSD and then put the TempGBA folder on the root. When I loaded up my DStwo I selected the TempGBA icon and all I got was a dark screen.

Also for GameYob all I found was an NDS file to download on the front page, where is the configuration file?

You don't need a configuration file. The nds file runs as-is, but it can generate a config file to save your settings.

Ok two problems I've noticed with the emulator so far.

    1. Where are the cheats? I thought this emulator supported them.

    2. It also stated it supports soft-resetting, when I pressed L+R+Start+Select it just shut down the entire system.

    1. Cheats are done but they haven't been worked into an official release yet. Versions with my latest additions (including cheats) can be downloaded from the gameyob thread. Then read this.
    2. You need a soft-reset compatible launcher. If the launcher doesn't support soft resetting it will just shut down.

I rather not screw things up trying to do it myself so I'll patiently wait till something does get added to the official release.

I didnt quite fully understand what you mean by a compatible launcher? Have I used the software wrong in any way?

P.S. the icon I downloaded isnt showing up in the SuperCard DStwo menu and I made sure it has the same name as the .nds file.

An in-game menu that allows you to return to the main menu, can be considered a soft-reset.

The standard SuperCard menus do not support soft reset for homebrew. You would need to use a homebrew menu such as the Homebrew Menu, iMenu, or BAGPlug for soft reset to work.

I just find it odd that everything on the flashcart works except for this emulator. I used the NDSGBA and other things with no issue.

I'll try formatting and report back if anything changes.

NDSGBA may have worked for a bit, but would corrupt your microSD as you attempted to write .sav files to it, if it wasn't formatted right.

TempGBA outright fails. Which is a better choice than silently corrupting things, IMHO.
