I know it's a beta but I'm just wondering if it's normal. It takes about 20 secs to boot my Wii until BootMii comes up. Boot2V3. Hope its not my Wii! [IMG]

The boot time is DEFINITELY based upon the speed of the SD card. I had a PNY 1GB card, and BootMii took a solid 10 seconds to load, at least. Then I bought a new Sandisk 2GB card (one of the white Wii ones), deciding to use the old 1GB exclusively to hold my NAND backup.... BootMii loads almost INSTANTLY from the new card. I've also tried copying Wiiware/VC to SD via the Wii menu, and it's unbelievably faster with the new card compared with the old. It can be measured in seconds rather than minutes.

Also, I don't understand how it could be a bug. The menu loads from the SD card... if the card's slow, it loads slow. If the card's fast, so is BootMii menu load. I have no idea how that could possibly be considered a bug.

You are wrong there is a bug even if your card works. You know my SD Card works fine too but this doesn´t mean that there is something wrong

mine does have a delay but u have to remember that this is a very early beta of bootmii and in the future tt will probably figure out a faster way of reading the files from the sd card so every sd boots the bootmii menu at the same speed until then deal with it or don't use it and sorry if that sounds harsh but thats just what u get when u use a program in the beta stage

I have a class 2 SDHC card which I think is supposed to be the slowest and Bootmii comes up for me pretty much instantly. It definitely comes up before the Wii is finished making that drive noise that it makes if there's nothing in the drive maybe even before.
