Does Cthulu unwrap everything now? I see it as a future update feature.

Edit: Nvm, saw a updated build in the later replies. Will try it out next time.

OK wtf is cthulu!?! Searching on gbatemp just gives me this thread, searching on google gives me eldritch nightmares and some weird ass game.

Where can I find her fork of sd-less a9lh? Can anyone please enlighten me? I'm going to be attempting the plailect guide soon, but only want her version so in case my sd port becomes busted i can partially use it as a vanilla console.

Don't forget that the SD-less boot and ShadowNAND aren't intended to replace a full CFW on the SD card. They're not at that point yet in terms of feature set. It's best to think of it as like a 'safe mode' of sorts, eliminating the oddity of the console not being able to boot independently.

Not that I'm aware of.
I've been running her SD card-less version of A9LH for months now. I don't use my 3DS without an SD card though. I mainly just installed it in case I ever to put my SD card into the 3DS, at least I can still use it with my physical games.

There were similar fears regarding Not64 on the Wii/vWii writing roms to NAND due to being too big to store in RAM. I'm not aware of anybody actually wearing out their NAND through too many writes, however.

Wait, what!, I didn't know that, now I'm thinking how many things i used and how many risk i been taking with no knowledge, i just thought that only saves were supposed to write into the nand on the Wii.

Everything has a finite amount of writes. NAND, SD cards, even hard drives. It's not worth worrying too much about it, unless you write to your Wii's NAND hundreds of times per day.

The difference with external storage of course it that they can be replaced if they do stop working, unlike NAND.

I'm not worried about wearing of the nand, it probably won't happen but it's just hilarious how this emulator works and not many apps follows the same workaround of not64, I haven't used my Wii in ages and maybe one or two years ago used that emulator and I preferred installing wads for 64 games instead

Constant writing to NAND is generally frowned upon for purposes other than the OS itself, especially with something as large as N64 roms. Whether or not there is a real risk is open for debate.

I've run her version and ShadowNAND for quite some time now. I've suffered no ill effects nor have I had any problems with them. Plus they do add another layer of protection by adding the Firm0/1 protection straight to the NAND.
I'm a bit confused here. Is that mean I can use both ShadowNAND with Luma3DS by Installing ShadowNAND instead SafeA9LH?

Yes you can. Just rename Luma's arm9loaderhax to boot.bin and put it in /homebrew/3ds/. You should use pathchanger or the .ini in newer nightly builds to ensure the rebooting works.

I switched between them and ran them for extended periods of time.
But you can run ShadowNAND with any other CFW. I am currently running ShadowNAND with Corbenik

Nice thing to have, still no "Official" Release, and it just makes me wonder why.
At this point the only well-documented bug in the unofficial release is DS mode won't work properly when running on the in-NAND CFW. But I would take no DS mode over being unable to use the whole 3ds if my SD card, or in the worst event the SD slot itself fails. At least a majority of the device will still work. At this point if I were the dev I would just release it with that documented bug, mostly because it's meant to be just-in-case, so no one will really be using it unless they have to.

Well i think official releases are important, it legitify (Yes i made it up) the idea that is functional but having a list of bugs let user decide if they really wish to use it or not. The majority of it works, 3DS primary functions, NDS function is a luxory in some cases since is additional and not primary function. I agree with your statement, people do not always feel comfortable with using what isn't official, is just like many warrnings say already "Always use official build." Goes for anything of the sort.
