I'm in the exact same position as you: O3DS with A9LH done before procedure revisions, N3DS with EmuNAND that I'm nervous to downgrade to 2.1.

If boot rate is your main problem, FWIW I did this, and now have maybe 95+% boot rate on the N3DS

If you just let the new OTP helper do its job, and DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING until it's ready, it works perfectly.

I did the old pre-revision methods on my o3DS, saw the o3DS is garbage (I have the aqua-blue launch color) so I bought a new 3ds XL (metallic blue.)

The worst thing that happened was a partial downgrade from 10.3 to 9.2, which is extremely easy to fix.

A brick with A9LH already installed and sitting pretty?

Extremely unlikely, and if one does appear, it'd probably be some Nintendo update tomfoolery. I'm not dumb, I let others update before I do.

I'm actually talking about the chance of brick during the whole process of obtaining console OTP. I bricked 3 times on my O3DS. Although, that was due to a a9lh compiling service that stuffed it up. I used the online drag and drop compiling service and it worked straight away.

I've done 2 o3ds and 1 n3ds using the new method and all of them are in a9lh now. 1 o3ds us region have 5 tmd mismatch, which was proved to be false positive, other than that it went smoothly afterwards. The others, no problem whatsoever.

See my first post. It's even more secure, safe, and easier than the webpage form to get the OTP.

Also, your sig is now out-dated.

Well, there you go, then!

But still, NAND mod master race :P

And yeah, i'm still trying to figure out what to make my next signature about.

I'm thinking something along the lines of all the hykems IOSU exploit crybabies over in the wii-u section

I have done 5 systems, 1 o3ds and 4 n3ds all have worked flawlessly following Plailect's guide. Its worth it and pretty safe as long as you follow the guide to the letter.

Alright, so I decided to bite the bullet and try arm9loaderhax on my N3DS. I've gotten up to the part where I've got 2.1 on the emuNAND, however since the emuNAND is bricked right now, I'm a bit confused with what to do after. Should I unbrick it using OTPHelper (Unbrick FW 2.1 EmuNAND) or just do the One Click Setup?

(This might be an easy question to answer, but since the n3DS didn't have 2.1, I want to double-check.)

It's worth it if you have the time to spare. It took me a little over 8 hours to install it to my Majoras Mask N3DS that was on 10.7

However if you don't on backing up your keys and going completely digital with them or using homebrew then I recommend staying away from this.

While I do know you can do more with this then homebrew and backups, I'm sure you wouldn't have made this thread if you where interested in those. (inb4dontbackuppiracyisbadomg)
8 HOURS? It took me less time to install Arch Linux than that! Is it that hard?

It's not hard but it is time consuming, especially since you need to make sure that you are doing everything correctly and using the correct files. A hardmod can make things faster since the nand is dumped a little faster but there wont be a big time difference

Earlier I posted that I bit the bullet and am now working on getting onto 2.1E.

Did the Unbrick FW 2.1 emuNAND (I assumed this had to be done because I'm on a N3DS. Plailect's guide says nothing about this) and now doing the One Click Setup. All validation stages are reported as a success. If this fails, hopefully I can use my 9.2 sysNAND backup to get back and start again.
